Coming up: To The Front Pōneke 2025 For the third year in a row, we went along to the final day of To The Front Pōneke, a holiday program run by Girls Rock Aotearoa, open to youth aged 12-17 years who are women, intersex, trans, takatāpui and gender diverse. Over five days the participants learn instruments, form bands, write original songs, and perform at a showcase, all guided by professional musicians. It’s an amazing week for the young people involved and we always love going along to interview the participants, bands, mentors and volunteers.
