Music and Musicians from a world of diversity
Eric is featuring music from two Wellington artists over the next few weeks – 'The Girl With the Eye Mask' and 'The Moon Whispers' – check out The Moon Whispers songs here. EarthSouNZ offers interviews and music from diverse cultures: mainstream, traditional and experimental. Presented by Eric Hathaway, the show will draw upon the voices and talents of musicians from New Zealand’s ethnic communities whether they be European, African, Pacific, Asian or from the Americas. It will also feature visiting artists and others who represent their cultures on the world stage. Eric has a special connection with WOMAD and regularly broadcasts interviews with artists appearing at WOMAD over the years. In 2010 so far he has featured Amal Murkus, Nickodemus, Ojos de Brujo, Mariem Hassan and Pacific Curls. He will also cover WOMAD UK for the first time.
An occasional feature of the show is “Artist Portrait” in which local and international artists play live and talk about their music and influences.
